Sewer Line Inspection Report – 1916 Paloma Way, Arlington, Texas

Flash Fix Plumbing recently performed a sewer line camera inspection at 1916 Paloma Way in Arlington, Texas.

The inspection was performed by entering the sewer system through the front cleanout. From the cleanout back toward the home, the under-slab sewer line was inspected and found to be clear, open, and serviceable at the time of inspection.

The line was then examined from the front cleanout toward the city tap connection. During this portion of the inspection, a significant root intrusion was located at approximately 22 feet from the cleanout. The root intrusion extended several feet inside the sewer line and is restricting the proper flow of wastewater.

A second root intrusion was also identified near the city tap connection. In addition to the roots, there is an offset and a visible crack in the sewer line just before the tap connection. This area is a major concern because it can continue allowing roots to enter the pipe and may worsen over time.

Based on the findings, the sewer line from the cleanout to the city tap is not considered serviceable in its current condition.

Inspection Findings

Property Address: 1916 Paloma Way, Arlington, Texas

Access Point: Front cleanout

Under-Slab Condition:
The under-slab portion of the sewer line was inspected and found to be clear and serviceable.

Yard Line / Building Sewer Condition:
The sewer line from the front cleanout to the city tap has multiple defects.

Defect 1:
Large root intrusion located at approximately 22 feet from the cleanout. The intrusion extends several feet inside the pipe.

Defect 2:
Additional root intrusion near the city tap connection.

Defect 3:
Offset and cracked section of pipe located just before the city tap connection.

Overall Condition:
The sewer line is not serviceable at this time due to root intrusion, pipe offset, and cracking near the tap connection.

Professional Recommendation

Flash Fix Plumbing recommends repairing or replacing the affected section of sewer line from the cleanout toward the city tap. The root intrusions, offset, and cracked pipe section indicate that the line has structural defects that cannot be considered a normal serviceable condition.

Clearing the line may provide temporary relief, but it will not correct the broken, offset, or cracked section of pipe. Because roots have entered the sewer line in multiple areas, the pipe will likely continue to experience recurring blockages until the damaged sections are properly repaired.

A proper repair should include excavation, removal of the damaged pipe sections, replacement with approved sewer piping, proper bedding and slope, and verification of the completed repair.

Why This Matters

A sewer line with root intrusion, cracking, and offset piping can lead to repeated backups, slow drains, sewer odor, wastewater discharge, and more expensive repairs if left unresolved. Root intrusion usually means there is an opening in the pipe where roots are entering. Once roots get into the line, they continue to grow and catch waste, toilet paper, and debris.

The offset and cracked section near the city tap is especially important because that area affects the final connection between the private sewer line and the municipal sewer system.
