Need a Water Heater Installed?
Call now and we can help inspect, coordinate materials, and install the correct water heater for your property.
Call Now: 972-333-5448Step 1: We Go to the Property
The first step is to visit the property and inspect the existing water heater. We look at the size, fuel type, location, venting, water connections, gas or electrical connections, drain pan, shutoff valves, and overall condition of the installation area.
Step 2: We Start Draining the Existing Water Heater
Once we are on site, we begin draining the old water heater. This allows us to safely remove the unit and also gives us time to identify exactly what type of replacement water heater and parts are needed.
Step 3: We Identify the Correct Water Heater
Before purchasing a replacement, we verify the gallon size, height, width, venting requirements, fuel type, and connection layout. This helps prevent the wrong water heater from being purchased.
- Natural gas water heaters
- Propane water heaters
- Electric water heaters
- Residential and commercial water heaters
Step 4: We Go to Home Depot or a Plumbing Supplier
After confirming the correct unit, we go to Home Depot or an approved plumbing supplier to pick up the water heater and all required installation materials.
Materials may include water flex lines, gas connectors, shutoff valves, dielectric unions, drain pans, T&P discharge piping, venting materials, fittings, pipe, insulation, sediment traps, and other required parts.
Step 5: The Customer Pays the Supplier Directly
We typically have Home Depot or the supplier complete a phone sale directly with the customer. This means the customer pays the supplier directly for the water heater and materials.
This protects the customer because the receipt, warranty information, product record, and purchase documentation are all in the customer’s name.
We want the customer to own the receipt, the warranty, and the product documentation directly.
Step 6: We Bring the Water Heater Back to the Property
Once the water heater and materials are purchased, we transport everything back to the property and prepare the installation area.
Step 7: We Complete the Full Installation
We remove the old water heater and install the new unit. The installation includes connecting the water lines, fuel source or electrical connection, temperature and pressure relief line, drain pan when required, venting when applicable, and all required safety components.
Gas Water Heater Safety Items
For natural gas and propane water heaters, we also inspect and address gas-related installation requirements. This may include proper gas connection, sediment trap or drip leg, combustion air, venting, draft, and safe operation.
- Natural gas connections
- Propane connections
- Sediment trap / drip leg
- Proper venting
- Draft and exhaust safety
- Leak testing
Electric Water Heater Installation
For electric water heaters, we verify the electrical connection, disconnect, breaker sizing, wiring condition, and proper operation after the tank is filled.
Final Testing
After installation, we fill the tank, purge air from the system, check for leaks, verify hot water operation, test gas or electrical function, and confirm the installation is operating properly.
