A two-prong receptacle does not confirm whether a grounding path is present. Safe upgrade options depend on the wiring method, box, grounding continuity, circuit protection, labeling, and locally adopted requirements. Installing a three-prong face alone does not create grounding.
A heat pump balance point is the outdoor condition where the home’s heat loss and the heat pump’s available capacity meet. Auxiliary heat may operate below that point or during recovery, but frequent operation can also signal thermostat, airflow, sensor, or equipment problems.
